Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Team members co-invest in every campaign hosted on Crowdbase, on the same terms available to the wider investor community.

No. Investors related to Crowdbase do not receive preferential treatment and are subject to the same conditions as all investors.

Crowdbase Ltd is authorized and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as a Crowdfunding Service Provider (license no. CSP 1/23).

Your funds are held in a segregated account with a reputable EU bank, separate from the money Crowdbase uses to run its own business. They are held until the end of a successful campaign, when they are transferred to the company raising funds. If you cancel within your four day reflection period, or a campaign does not go ahead, your money is returned to the account you paid from. Your investment itself is high risk: it is not covered by any deposit guarantee or investor compensation scheme, and you could lose all the money you invest.

There is no charge for having a Crowdbase account, and opening, keeping or closing one is free. Individual campaigns can carry a cost to investors, such as a share of any profit when the investment pays out, or a fee at the point of investment. It varies by campaign and is always set out in that campaign's Key Investment Information Sheet (KIIS). If a cost is not in the KIIS, we do not charge it.

After a successful campaign, you receive the shares or other instruments offered in that campaign. On nominee-structured campaigns you hold the beneficial interest, shown in the certificate of beneficial ownership in your profile. Otherwise you are registered directly. Your rights, including any share in future returns, are set out in the campaign's KIIS.

Crowdfunding is the method of financing a business by raising small amounts of money from a large number of people. In return for their investment, individuals receive securities, such as company shares (equity) or bonds that pay interest and are due to be repaid (debt). For a more comprehensive explanation, we encourage you to visit our blog.

Crowdbase campaigns are aimed at investors aged 18 or over who live in the European Economic Area (EEA). You can register on the platform and, once your account is verified, begin investing.
